It has been ages since I gave myself an herbal facial steam! I guess because the weather has turned cool or because my face has turned blah, I had the great idea last night to give myself a steam. So glad I did. It was delightful. I had Chamomile, lavender and calendula on hand (surprisingly) and what a wonderfully soothing combination it was. After the steam I wiped some cool green tea across my skin then applied a banana-honey-lemon mask. Even more delightful on top of the already delightful! It’s close to 24 hours later and my face is still thanking me. It’s such an easy treatment and really gets results. I suggest everyone do this ASAP!
Facial Steam:
Boil a pot of water in a non metal pan or pour the boiled water into a non metal bowl
Add a spoonful each of 3 or 4 herbs such as chamomile, lavender, rose petals, mint, licorice, comfrey…
Cover and let the herbs steep for about 5 minutes
Place the bowl or pot on a mat on your kitchen table, lean over with a towel over your head and the pot making a tent and remove the lid. Let your face steam for about 5 minutes.
Pat your face dry and splash cool water or wipe with a cool green tea soaked cotton ball
Banana, Honey, Lemon Face Mask:
1/2 banana (peeled)
1 tablespoon raw honey
1/2 – 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth ( you can mash with a fork but I always use the blender with banana or avocado… I hate even the smallest lump!)
Apply mask evenly and rinse off after 5 minutes
What does the banana do for your skin?

HI blissful bohemian, love the name! Well, bananas are pretty nutrient packed … without listing all the good stuff, the benefits are – moisturizing, oil control, acne control, anti-aging AND help lighten dark spots. Pretty amazing.
And thanks for the follow : )
